Avery Sunshine
Avery Sunshine, a singer-composer well-known for his distinct blend of soul gospel jazz R&B as well as R&B. Sunshine has appeared on Broadway, at the Democratic National Convention and in the European clubs and festivals. Sunshine was born Denise White. While she is living in Atlanta currently, she is from Chester Pennsylvania. In Chester Pennsylvania she started out as a musician, singing and playing at the church in town. She was a student at Spellman College and began to learn the R&B style of Atlanta. The Fighting Temptations The first single featuring her voice was Stalk You A house 12 released exclusively in Japan; it was later remixed by many producers and remains the mainstay of her live set. Her voice has also been a part of singing to The Fighting Temptations' soundtrack. In 2005 she was hired as the primary keyboardist in Tyler Perry's stage show Meet the Browns. Jennifer Holliday (a Grammy and Tony Award-winning singer) offered her the position of choral conductor of Dreamgirls in Atlanta during the National Black Arts Festival. Sunshine received national attention for her daily shows in 2008 at the Democratic National Convention. She was then invited to perform in the Obama administration's inaugural in 2009.
